The MC-Sierra Leone center in the Kono District supports the construction of a bakery as one of the center's first income-generating projects. The project was started by Doris Allieu, the community center coordinator. Currently, the community has to travel all the way to the main town to buy bread, a staple in their diet. Doris saw the opportunity to build a bakery as a way to improve life for the community and help the community center remain self-sufficient. |
